Nexus Player Microphone Button.

Just wondering if it is possible to have the microphone button trigger the in app search, rather than the main menu\global search? I am sure one of my other apps maps the search in app, but it might be a google app and hence have more permission. It would be nice to be able to trigger a search with the button rather than having to navigate up to the search icon on screen.

No.  Just like on your phone - that button is hard-wired to the global Google search.

I completed forgot to reply to this, distracted with out issues

 

I found the app I was thinking of, I don't have many on my Nexus Player, anyway it is Netflix, when you press the mic button in the Netflix App it brings up the Netflix Search rather than the Global Search. Interesting thing is the Netflix Search doesn't even support the microphone.

The docs specifically say that that button press is not delivered to applications but I've tried something for the next release.  We'll have to see if it works.

Hit the hard microphone button on your NP remote when in an Emby screen.  It should now take you to our search (and listening for voice) instead of the global one.

Not unless Fire OS 5 supports it.

 

Right now, the Fire gives no access to the search feature to apps.  They want you searching Amazon.

OK, it works just fine, but if I do a 2nd search with the results still showing from the 1st search, then the Google search kicks in.

 

I have to back out to the main Emby menu and start again.

It does work great.. and yes.. hitting it twice kicks you to google search.

Yes that's going to happen in the current release.  The next beta may fix it.

it does but i have to admit i only even tried that cause you reported it, cb..  if you back out of the results you can then perform a 2nd search ive noticed.
