cw-kid 192 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) Hi Something weird going on with the Emby metadata manager for Wheeler Dealers - S12E11 - Fiat Panda. Its adding it incorrectly as S12E11 - Caterham 7. Looking on TheTVDB site episode 11 is listed correctly as Fiat Panda. So not sure where its getting Caterham 7 from? TheTVDB ID stored in the metadata manager looks to be correct however: 5305531 as if you click this episode link it has the same ID number. Bit worrying this one if other TV Show episodes are also incorrect? Will have to look more closely at the new episodes being added to the system. Thanks Edit: Server version is 3.0.5713.2 Edited August 25, 2015 by cw-kid
Luke 42078 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 maybe it was different at the time the metadata was downloaded
cw-kid 192 Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) If it was, there is still something not right, as I checked TheTVDB episode entry was correct and then removed the video file for it from the TV watched folder. Emby then removed the episode from the library. I also deleted the nfo file and thumb image. I then re-added the video file and it still detected the metadata incorrectly. I also tried refreshing the episode in the metadata manager but still the same incorrect information. Edited August 25, 2015 by cw-kid
Luke 42078 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 We cache data for the entire series locally. I'm sure there's a simple explanation if you really want to dig deep enough. The name couldn't possibly have been made up from anywhere else.
cw-kid 192 Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 So if its cache locally should doing a manual refresh for the episode in the metadata manager force it to re-download the metadata from the internet? As this isn't working either and its still showing incorrect information. Thanks
Luke 42078 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 See here http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/wheeler-dealers-caterham-7/EP006075300258?aid=zap2it It was called caterham 7 at one point. And no, we get the metadata for the entire series in bulk. You can look in the server's cache folder to delete it. You can wait a few days and try again. Or you can rename it manually. Or you can just don't worry and be happy
cw-kid 192 Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 When I first looked at the entry on TheTVDB site tonight it was correct for Fiat Panda, but as you say it could have been incorrect previously when the episode was added. I did edit the entry on TheTVDB website and added the Directors name thinking adding some new info and saving that episode on TheTVDB website might force the correct information to then be pulled down by Emby but its not working currently. Or should I refresh it at the season level in the metadata manager rather than the episode level?
cw-kid 192 Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Refreshing at the season level or TV Show level and it still doesn't update that episodes metadata. So the refresh button in the metadata manager is not working as I expected it would? and forcing it to update the metadata to the correct metadata now held on TheTVDB site.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) The real question is if the api information is correct not the website. <mirrorupdate>2015-08-25 15:36:16</mirrorupdate> Just added the episode and it currently pulls the correct information. -
<EpisodeName>Fiat Panda</EpisodeName> <EpisodeNumber>11</EpisodeNumber> <SeasonNumber>12</SeasonNumber> <FirstAired>2015-08-24</FirstAired> <Added>8/25/2015 5:34:48 PM</Added> <LockData>false</LockData> - <Overview> - Mike tracks down a model of the smart city car, the Fiat Panda 4x4, with potential, and Edd does the mechanics, before they try to make a profit </Overview> <Rating>8</Rating> <VoteCount>1</VoteCount> <ProductionYear>2015</ProductionYear> <TvDbId>5305531</TvDbId> - <Persons> - <Person>
<Type>Director</Type> <Role /> </Person> </Persons>
Edited August 26, 2015 by Happy2Play
CashMoney 94 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Wheeler dealers has always been a problem on tvdb and other sites. It's one of those shows where no one seems to really know which episode is which and people keep changing the info. Tanked is also the same. I'd change the data manually and lock it as someone is bound to change it for the wrong* info on tvdb at some point *wrong in your/mine/our opinion, not in everyone/someone else's ;p
cw-kid 192 Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Thanks for your input! But I still don't understand what pressing the Refresh button in the metadata manager against the Episode or Season or TV Show, should actually be doing? As it doesn't make it pickup the current metadata for this particular episode.
