Display Thumbs

Using emby on a new NowTV 'Black' box. I login - First thing I see is a folder for Modern Family Seasons 1-6. The 'Display', 'Next Up' & 'Genre' thumbnails are all shown in 4:3 and look really horrible. When I open the MF folder to play an episode - all the thumbs are properly displayed in 16:9. How do I change the 4:3 images to display in 16:9? I see nothing in options. Is it a metadata, emby or a NowTV box issue?
