ssjy0da 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I just migrated to using emby for server as opposed to using kodi alone. I'm having an issue with keeping the server awake while streaming or letting it sleep when done streaming. I'm using a nexus player with kodi and emby plugin... Also an android phone and getting same results on both. I'll boot my server, set sleep timer to 1 minute for testing, and it'll sleep properly. If i start streaming then the server will stay awake, though will stay awake after I stop streaming. I rebooted ny android device and the server will sleep now, but emby loses ability to stay awake while streaming until I reboot server. It's as if the feature to stay awake is linking to the initial connection and when I get that to disconnect by rebooting client it wont connect to another. The dashboard shows devices connected.
Luke 42081 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 there are some fixes for this for the next release. the thing to remember is, as long as there are connected clients then it will attempt to keep the server machine awake
ssjy0da 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Attempt being key word there. It will stay awake on first connection after boot but not let go when streaming is done. If i reboot the client then no connection afterwards will keep it awake.
Luke 42081 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 a 1 minute sleep timer though is very aggressive. The server only calls the windows command to stay away i think every 5 minutes.
ssjy0da 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Ah, every 5... That could explain it. How sure are you on the 5 minutes? I set it to 1 minute to test it then was going to push it back once I verified it. Setting it to 10 minutes should be fine then right?
ssjy0da 0 Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 I just tested it again. Was able to stream and it stayed awake. I've been waiting 20 min and server hasn't slept after finishing stream. So it's staying awake
