No Web Gui on Headless Ubuntu Server

Hello,

 

I've just installed Emby-server on my Home Server. The Server is running Ubuntu 14.04, I followed the Instructions, no Errors occured during installation but I cant access the Web Interface. I dont use a Gui on the Server, so I replaced localhost with my Servers IP but Firefox on my Pc (Linux Mint 17, Firefox 40) cant find the Page. I also googled a bit, tried all sites I found (e.g. http://lServer-IP:8096/web/wizardstart.html) but i get the same result.

I also tried using only one Interface (Server got 2) but that didnt help.

did you start the server? are you sure it's running?

It's highly probable that you are having problems to start Emby since there are known issues with the init scripts in the current Debian/Ubuntu packages. Please check http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/24278-new-emby-initd-script-not-working/ since one of the users in the forum have a workaround for this problem.

Ok that seems to be the Problem I used "service emby-server start" as root (starting without errors) but htop dont show it. I will try your Solution thanks a lot.

And now I get the Welcome to Emby Page. Thanks a lot
