I think if you qualify for the program, you get a free dev kit.

Also, MS will be updating the X1 in the near future to allow any console to be used as a dev kit once your accepted into the program.

Pretty sure we applied way back before release and we were rejected because it was local content. When any X1 can be a dev kit, I'm hoping they open up to allow more things like us.

Yes, we were rebuffed but we are using inside sources to try and re-attack :).

Any chance of some day seeing a mb3 client on the PlayStation 4? Considering at the moment it doesn't support streaming local content of any type it could really benefit ps4 owners. Not sure what it takes to develop a ps4 app, I've just read they are a lot more friendlier to indie developers so I'm wondering if they have the same stance for developing apps and not just games

I'm not sure this will be on the radar anytime soon, but who knows if some other dev comes along and can build one. The reason for the XB1 app is mainly because it can basically be the same Win8 store app just slightly modified. So it wouldn't take a huge amount of time and we already have people experienced in building apps for it.

Great to hear! The browser interface is good-looking, but on Xbox One it's quite cumbersome; having to scroll down below the banner to select videos and then click Fullscreen every time I open media is annoying with a controller.
