blublub 10 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Hi I use Kodi v15 and now 15.1 RC1 and Emby stable 1.13. I control Kodi via a Control4 home automation system which connects and controls Kodi via JSON interface. Issue/problem: Whenever I boot Kodibuntu or resume it from standby it takes "ages" - OK 30-80s - until I can control/navigate Kodi. So I have to wait patiently at the Kodi home screen. After this "initial lag" all is smoothly, no issues at all. My Control4 system shows me "disconnectedness" during that time From another thread (user had trouble starting movies via JSON) I did try to use local paths instead of emby redirects - this solves my issue, however it is a work around. I am not quite sure when the issue was introduced as I also moved to Linux from windows. Please let me know what kind of logs you need for trouble shooting such an issue. Thx for any help
im85288 1493 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 It might be worth trying the incremental sync: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/23971-fast-startup-sync-server-plugin/ You will need to use the beta repo though for the latest Emby addon version. 1
xnappo 1611 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Yep - I think the JSON calls are conflicting with the database scan, but the new incremental sync will probably be fast enough that it doesn't cause as many issues.
blublub 10 Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Ok I have tried Emby beta with incremental sync now and I sadly have to say it is not significantly better. JSON control is still disabled for 30-45s. When I disable Emby addon all s good - so I am 99,9% sure it has something to do with Emby. The only weired thing is that I can't remember to have that issue running Windows - but I just don't know which adon version I was using then. Edited August 14, 2015 by blublub
Angelblue05 4132 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Ok just to confirm, you've installed the server plugin, enabled the setting for incremental in your settings. Then you've restarted and let Kodi run once, to let it sync at startup. Then restarted Kodi once more (that's when the incremental sync actually kicks in) and tried and you still had this issue? Just verifying could you please post a new log capturing of your start up (when the json is not working for you, up to the point it then accepts your json commands?
