Metadata editor groups with sub trees alphabetically?

I have seen some images where the metadata editor groups movies under sub trees of the alphabet (ex. A B C), but mine lists the entire movie collection by name in alphabetical order.

 

How do I create the sub tree alphabet options?

That is probably just how those people have physically organized their libraries.  I don't recommend doing that.
