You have approx 23 months.

Get to getting, please.

Also, what time is it?

Only 23 months??!!

Yeah that is roku being "gentle" like a parent would a child. Reminding them an hour before it is bedtime that lights must be out. Except roku gave developers 2 hours. The first year 2017-2018 you can update a BRS app. After that in 2018-2019 the app cant be updated, but can still exist to download on the store. Roku does that extra year to still claim they have the most apps of any platform. It also can exist on your roku forever. At least until you factory reset your roku after 2019.

Its all good too, by that time the official client will shift to open source and we can begin round 2, or the official client will adopt community feature requests and make a blue neon sgnode app not required. Time will tell. ;)

How about a quick launch row? I have a few apps it looks for, and if installed on your device makes these available in the top quick launch row on the homescreen. Of course, this can also be disabled in settings. Also going to add back the clear registry button in the user login screen. It works awesome now and makes it simple to return the app to that fresh off the roku store smell.

I will have another update tomorrow, to include these.. stay tuned

Can you get this pushed out prior to 2019?

What apps should be in the quick launch row?

Emby preview, netflix, amazon instant video, hulu, youtube, google play movies

Any others I missed that should be there?

PBS, CBSN , ACORN, PLEX

(I know, I am weird)

(just kidding about the PLEX)

So ONLY the apps you have INSTALLED will populate?

If you add and drop apps it should sync, correct?

No no.. all of that would be redundant. The homescreen has all dont need to copy that. Think of the quick launch row as prime real estate. A fast way to get to the few apps you use without navigate the main roku homescreen.

I can add PBS, PBS kids, and Acorn.. sure

Maybe nickelodeon and disney... ??

I understand, I was not asking if you were going to recreate the ROKU main screen.

But IF I do not have HULU installed on the Roku, Hulu will NOT show up in the quick launch?

That is what I am trying to get at.

Was just going to ask that.  What happens if you don't have the channels you are adding to quick launch?

I can guarantee I am the ONLY nitwit with ACORN and possibly PBS.

Those ones wont appear. It gets the list of apps installed on the device. Only if you have the app installed does it appear with a launchable button.

So far Ive got:

Emby preview, netflix, amazon instant video, hulu, youtube, google play movies, showtime, hbo now, sling tv, vudu, pbs, acorn tv, and pluto tv.

I forgot Pluto.

Tx

So when you go to another app via quick launch you are logged OUT of Blue Neon, and the new app launches?

Yep. Now you got it. Makes it easier to launch out directly from app, saves a click or three. :)

So will all apps we have installed app show in quick launch or only a list that you have applied?

Just the select few we deem important enough. Dont want to replicate the entire homescreen. Just a way to launch into the emby preview for me at first. Then figured, guess it can do a few more apps. Which roku apps do you use most frequently that deserve a spot?

Maybe Tune-in or Pandora.  I really don't use the Roku for anything but Emby.

You can already use the tunein channel plugin. Mark those stations as favorites in the app. Then go to the favorites heart, and in the podcasts row are your tunein favorites. You can play them directly in emby.

I can add both pandora and tunein to quick launch.

Playboy channel, Hustler Channel, my cute teen neighbors shower feed??? I'd like those...

But I suppose you want things that currently exist huh? Drat!

Can you go to inputs from inside an app? (Like for the cable box?)

If you have a rokuTV.. yes

Roku TV ECP commands

Roku TV devices additionally support the following external control services.

query/tv-channels
Returns information about the TV channel / line-up available for viewing in the TV tuner UI.

query/tv-active-channel
Returns information about the currently tuned TV channel.

launch/tvinput.dtv
Launch the TV tuner UI.

Can optionally be passed a TV channel parameter of the form "ch=1.1" to tune to the specified TV channel number.

Ohhh... the possibilities... :D

For us Roku TV users, changing to an input might be handy. Or I can just hit home and move right a couple of times. Whatever.... Lol

The app knows when its running on a rokuTV and will give a TV Tuner OTA option when found. This _could_ also tune to a channel as it launches the tuner, but thats something for the future...

No need for quick launch and I'm hoping it will be disabled be default dont want my users bugging me about it. Thanks.
