Daimon 6 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Real time monitoring doesn't detect that new episodes is added anymore. Have had this problem for a few months now and can't figure out why. Movies are added as soon as I add then and new TV series is also detected as soon as I add then but new episodes in existing series are not added before I trigger a new library scan. server-63574487137.txt Added episode 2-5 to "//NAS/TV-Serier/Dark Matter/Season 1" between 19:50 and 20:15. Doesn't show up in the library Added a empty folder "The Brink" in "/NAS/TV-Serier" at 21:46 and that triggers a new library scan within 2 minutes. Any idea why episodes are not detected? ebr 16187 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 What is the file system where the media resides?
ebr 16187 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 My best guess is that file system doesn't support the file watchers down as many levels as is necessary for something like episodes then.
Daimon 6 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 I have had this system for a year now and it was working fine before. Every episode was detected as soon as I added them. Don't remember exactly when it stopped working, around April maybe.
Luke 42081 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 it doesn't actually get turned on until the startup library scan is complete. since the scan went on for a little while, maybe you added it during that time.
Daimon 6 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Added episode 6 and waited 10 minutes. Didn't detect it server-63574487137.txt
Luke 42081 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Then it looks like to me based on the absence of logging messages that windows just isn't firing the change events that we're listening for. If that's the case then it's out of our hands and there's nothing we can do. The documentation on the windows api is very clear - not all file systems and devices are supported, and it becomes even less reliable when attempting to listen to changes over the network. Sorry.
Spaceboy 2573 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I have my media on a ds2413+ using ext4. I actually use sonar to do the moving and renaming but emby seems to be picking it up within a few minutes of the file arriving. Server is on a win8 pc
