Jerky_san 0 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I've been attempting to get this work for a few days now.. I cannot connect via emby connect to two different emby servers in two different locations. I have ddns so if I hand type the url's/ports (both SSL and Non) it works. Using emby connect however results in a "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now". I have ports forwarded to the correct addresses and my plex system works great so I don't think its that(yet). Here is the weird part about the whole thing. If I login directly via my ddns address and then try emby connect it will connect and work. So I'm assuming the first connection makes the cookie and some how emby connect is using that. When emby connect says the "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now" I do not see an error logged for failed login or an attempt. Any suggestions of what I could try? I reinitialized the emby connect connection but doesn't seem to help either.
Luke 42081 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 is the external address displayed on the server dashboard correct? if not try customizing it under advanced.
Jerky_san 0 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) is the external address displayed on the server dashboard correct? if not try customizing it under advanced. Yes it displays properly but I also filled in my ddns to try it that way as well. Both ways doesn't resolve the problem though. It does work directly btw via the links it provides on the main page.. Just not through app.emby.media Edited August 6, 2015 by Jerky_san
Jerky_san 0 Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 I found that if I disable "report https as external address" it works with emby connect. What's odd when I start Emby app on my android phone it says "ssl certificate error alert". So it appears to be something to do with https. I wonder if a custom cert would fix it.
Luke 42081 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 yea that's exactly it. getting https support into each of the apps is still an ongoing project.
