Metadata Manager will not load and other issues

I am very close to signing up as a lifetime supporter as Emby is the first application that has handled my 30K+ MP3 library well.

 

I have a few issues however and hope you can help resolve them.

 

1 - EMBY related, 9 out of 10 times Metadata Manager just will not load, it hangs, never loading.  I have the coloured rotating timer inthe middle of the screen, that eventually disappera, but the top left still show loading with a spinning icon, occaisionally that freezes as well.

 

2 - Missing NFO, should EMBY create new NFO files for artists if there isn't one?  As a test I isntalled my media library on another PC and NFO files got created on one installation but not the other.

 

3 - Scan time of music library is usually over 2 hours and kills the memory resources of the PC.

 

4 - For many artists there are no options to add musicbrainz ID's although they are there on the MB database.

 

All music is correctly tagged prior to adding it into the library.

 

These all occur on the main PC that I use as the server, other users around the use have no problems with playback.

What does your music folder structure look like? specifically, examples of the artists that aren't showing options to add mbz id's?

So Geri is an old one with no nfo, Galantis is a recent addition to the library.

In your library have you defined the folder Music as the source folder or did you add each of the letter folders to the library?  The latter would very likely work best.

No, for music the top level should be ok. It might just not have found any metadata for those artists.

Metadat is all sorted in MP3 Tag before I even bring a folder in, what is odd is athat an nfo file got created for the Geri folder when i imporoted my my music folder into a new isntallation of Emby in my office.

 

To be honest, it is the Metadata edit \ missing options to edit musicbrainz ID that is concerning me more, and the long time taken to scan.

What about the first issue he noted of Metadata Manager just not loading?

 

I am still struggling with the same issue. Editing items, adding items to a Collection are almost impossible now with the Metadata Manager just never loading in either Chrome or IE browser. Just a constant spinning circle, which also makes any access to the library impossible. No Metadata Manager, No Details page for items, No Play of items.

Hi Blade, that is my biggest concern too at the moment.

 

I'm so close to paying for a lifetime membership, but these niggles are just stopping me from doing so.

I also have the Metadata Manager not loading issue. If I keep refreshing it eventually works. I've got about 1,500 movies and 30 TV shows with about 2,000 episodes.
