UK Freeview Guide issues - Schedule Direct Issue or Emby?

Hi 

 

I am trying out using emby live tv as my new backend to move away from WMC. 

 

I have a HDHR4-2DT freeview tuner in the UK receiving DVB-T2. I have set the tuner up and it appears to be working as I can get a stream through emby (to all bar Windows 8 native app). 

 

I have spoken to Robert to get a trial of SD in the UK but when trying to configure emby it only gives me US options and no UK options

UK has not been added to EmbyTV yet, so for now you will need to use one of the other Live TV plugins.

Hi Ben, 

I have started to play with NextPVR and Emby. I have got the basics working but need to do a lot of tweaking to get it were i'd like it. 

 

No series recording (yet) with it through emby but I think it will do it through the web interface of NPVR so there is options.

 

The HD HR Connect itself is quite a cool piece of kit and I like the decoupling of PC and tuners.

Hi, are you using all of your post code?  I had issues before I realised that only the first part of the post code was needed. Once I only used the first part I had more lineups to choose from and found one better suited to my location.

Thanks for the quick responses and yep Latchmor that did the trick. If you still want it ebr here you go, i have disabled some channels on my homerun as I never watch them, if you'd like to see them let me know. A couple still aren't right but i may just disable them too.

To be honest I've been away since I started using it. I've only tested a handful of recordings (still using WMC) but it looks promising. The good thing is, like all the Emby stuff, you know it's going to get better.

 

If you look in some of the other threads you'll find others that have been using it for a while now and seem to be using it a lot.

Is there any update on this thread from last August?

 

Is Emby TV now working for UK users?

I currently use Argus TV any plans to support that as an Emby plug-in?

 

If I were to buy a new tuner to use with (eg NextPVR) for now, and EmbyTV when available, what tuner(s) will Emby TV support for the UK - any generic DVB-T2, or specific ones?

Check the schedules direct website to see if that have appropiate lineup coverage for you. If not we have XML TV coming in the next release of the server

I have a Schedules Direct subscription, their JSON service supports the UK, and works well in Argus TV. Would like to try the native Emby TV though, but not sure what tuner I would need. Does Emby TV have direct support for the Schedules Direct (newish) JSON service?
