TolkienBard 58 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) Last night I encountered an odd situation. Apparently my movies are loading in ET with the subtitles on by default. Usually, this would not bother me. However, when I hit the * button on my keyboard to bring up the UI, there are no options for subtitles there. I only have the standard "Overview/Scenes/Cast/Audio" selection along the top row, with the ability to also key down to thumbs-up/down and favorite. I went into the settings section of Emby Theatre and unchecked the "Enable Subtitles" (which I expected to just not load them) but when I started a movie I continued to get subtitles anyway. AgileHumor 123 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I have subtitles playing (even with LAV and Empy preferences set to No Subtitles). Started a couple weeks ago. So something flaky happening for sure with subs
Mibok 158 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Are you sure that those are Soft subtitles and no Hard Subtitles (burned in the video itself)
TolkienBard 58 Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 It doesn't matter which movie I select, I am getting a subtitle feed. Watching the LOTR trilogy, the burned in subtitles (when they are speaking Elvish) still appear on-screen as their own (better looking by far) independent entity. When I pull up the UI, I am not even getting an option for subtitles, on, off, or otherwise.
