Sync Not Working

After some playing around, the problem appears to be with music syncing. If music is disabled it works fine.

Switch to the Emby Stable repo, version 1.1.13 of the Emby add-on is still working for me and music sync after resetting the local database.

I'm using Kodi 16 so stable isnt an option. I am using the new beta server plugin which has resolved the majority of the issues now that it isnt re-syncing all the time.

I've also found that Music is not getting synced in the beta builds, I even created a user with access to only music and tried to sync in Kodi with no results. I can post logs if needed.

Yes.  Post a log.

 

The OPs problem is actually something with boxsets - just look like music because that is the last thing before music.

Can you try something? In the add-on folder inside %appdata%\Roaming\Kodi\addons\plugin.video.emby\resources\lib\ open in notepad DownloadUtils.py

 

Line 30 there is this line

timeout = 30

Change the value to 60 and restart Kodi. Let me know if it then lets you sync your music songs.

I'm just thinking the number of items that we query from the server is just too large...we will need to review the music queries to handle the larger number of items. I do not have this problem with music, it scans in everything, but I also have like 1500 songs.

Can @@Oxide @@cw-kid or anyone having trouble syncing music, try this custom build? Just install over the current version, let music sync run and let me know if it completes.

 

I've inserted a limit of pulling 200 songs per call (and doing multiple calls instead) to the server so it's able to respond faster (I also temporarily increased the timeout value to 60 seconds, to give the server a better chance to respond within that time)

Thanks that build is working, although it does seem to get stuck at Processing Music Albums for a few minutes, then flies through the Songs.

Ok that's pretty good news, I will apply the same limit for albums and artists too then.

 

Edit: It might be a bit slow between sections (album and songs for example) because we are pulling all the songs from your server during that time so that's what the wait is for, but hopefully it will be able to complete in a reasonable amount of time.

Can also confirm version 1.1.25 of the Emby add-on now completes the initial sync OK and the music library is functional again. On a large music collection like mine the sync appears to get stuck on "Music Albums" 99% for like 20 minutes but it does eventually move on to process the "Music Songs" and then completes OK. 

Subsequent startup syncs also have this long delay but its working!

 

So fingers crossed the music sync issues are now sorted again. 

 

Thanks to the Devs for their hard working getting to the bottom of it.   

 

Now to try the new fast incremental sync plug-in!
