KarterJK 35 Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) I figured out what the problem is no matter what I do, I can not get anything better the 4Mbps for download the only time full screen works is if it is 2.5Mbps or less and the quality is not good for any of it it only allows 480p with 4Mbps, what has happened to this Edited August 1, 2015 by KarterJK
KarterJK 35 Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 I don't know what other word to use, when describing EMBY. I have tried keeping up with all of the server upgrades/changes/etc over the last year AND while I commend all of the implementations there have been, there is still a fundamental flaw with Emby The functions all work but only in part or only when using different methods of delivery, some examples 1) emby.media.app functions differently for IE, Firefox, Chrome examples are in playing movies, fullscreen above 2Mbps is truly only available on FireFox 2) and why is it throttled back to a 480p resolution and 4Mbps (doesn't make sense) when using it over my LAN that clearly can deliver up to 100Mbps 3) while the new EmbyTV seems to work (with the Guide) or some of the others (with Guide), they only work in the web versions, No Guides are available in the web apps (that I know of) nor on Emby Theater 4) why can't you add an external player to web browser, it is only available in Emby Theater 5) these are only the areas I know of, I suspect there are others WHILE the parts that work, work okay when using the proper interface, one ends up having to use several different interfaces to actually get a complete operating system, or at least I have too. I think that I will probably abandon Emby for about a year and come back when it seems many of these issues may eventually be worked out. I often wonder if there are to many different projects going on at once to really focus on getting one entirely functional. I don't know. But my hopes are positive for the Emby team going forward. Luck to all of you, and keep up the good work.
