Chromecast Not Showing

Hello,

 

I got a new chromecast and was trying to cast from emby web client. However it was not showing up as a device in IE so I tried Chrome and it was there. Does casting not work from IE?

 

What devices, things can I cast to it from?

I don't think you can cast from IE. Chrome has the extension support that allows you to cast to a Chromecast device. Emby for Android app does support casting to a Chromecast device.

it is directly from each application, only the ones that have chromecast libraries available from google

as far as my experiences with the chromecast go, there's no way to cast from internet explorer, but i think google chrome is in a lot of ways better anyway, i haven't used internet explorer in years, apart from one or 2 times due to website account creations not functioning properly in chrome.

 

it's exactly as luke says, not every application supports casting to chromecast, but if  you install the app from google called "chromecast" you can mirror your phone's screen to the chromecast you want
