lurch9366 16 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 where do I find the previous version of mbc. With version 3.0.96.0 I am getting a black screen over laid on top of mpc hc. I can hear the movie playing but cannot see it unless I control alt delete. The file plays fine if I open it outside of MBC I will post logs and test further but I need to get my main media center pc working again. I know I know why am I testing on my main pc. Lets just say there have been so few issues I just started getting used to updates never causing problems.
ebr 16169 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I kinda doubt moving backwards is going to help this and we don't really have a supported way of doing that right now. But, nothing in this area really changed in this version so I suspect something else is going on.
lurch9366 16 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Ok well I updated mbc last night which then updated the 2 themes I use "subdued and chocolate" and since than I am having the black screen issue. I will try the default theme and post my logs tonight.
ebr 16169 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 The only thing I can think of to try is to turn off the "show splash screen" option for externals in the configurator. Maybe, somehow, it is getting left on top of your player.
lurch9366 16 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 I already tried that but thank you for the suggestion. I turned Both the splash screen and minimize on and off and It did not help.
lurch9366 16 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Here is my logs and It does the same thing on the default theme. http://pastebin.com/CBBA5QL3
Solution lurch9366 16 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Solution Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Well this is quite a coincidence I have narrowed it down to a problem with wmc itself. When I click minimize wmc goes to a black overlay instead of actually minimizing. It just so happens it started the same time I updated mbc. Looks like it is going to be a late night. Updated my video drivers and rebooted and all is working. Sorry to even think of blaming media browser classic. Thanks EBR Edited November 24, 2013 by lurch9366
