OutOfRange 0 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Hi there I'm sorry bothering you with that, but I seem to be too stupid to set up Emby on my Raspi, setup is: Raspi 2, Openelec 5.0.8, Add-On 1.0.0. I can get Openelec running and install the Add-On, problem is: I can't get a connection to the server. The server is hosted by a friend of mine, who has no knowledge about the Add-On and can't really help me out what's wrong. I do have an internet connection on the Raspi and the Emby works fine on my PC using Firefox, so there must be something wrong with the server connection. Thing is, that instead of using an IP adress, I have to use http://***.ddns.net:8096 to connect to the server, I tried using only the adress in the Add-On configuration as well as also typing in the port directly in the adress, but none of this works. Any ideas ? I also don't really have an idea how to set any HTTPS options or if they're neccessary.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 You should be able to. I am connected to my brother's server remotely as well with Emby for Kodi. So let's recap the steps: Primary server address (do not include http): "***.ddns.net" and port: 8096. Then in playback tab, enable play from http. That's all you need to do. The address is not https so no need to enable the setting.
bluemonkey07 590 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) Have you checked that you can actually access the server? Have you tried using that address in a web browser to ensure everything is working that way first? Edit sorry nm I should have read your post fully[emoji15] Edited July 25, 2015 by Vidman
