Boxset Metadata / metabrowser

Recommended Posts

I've let MBS do the metadata fetching but still use metabrowser for changing specifics. However, I've noticed that in metabrowser I set the boxset to themoviedb I'd number and run the fetch (works fine), but after a few days it seems that the data is no longer available in metabrowser as MBS has altered something I believe.

Any ideas from the MBS side? Or I'm I making things worse by using both fetchers?

Thanks

Sure,

I previously fetched all the data for Iron Man and Transformers Boxsets using metabrowser. Now, metabrowser only shows Transformers as a boxset and I have to tell metabrowser to re-select "treat as movie" to Iron Man boxset and run the fetch again. It has happened a couple time with different boxsets so I figure it may be due to 2 programs fetching the data differently. MBS still sees the data just fine, but metabrowser don't see it as a boxset anymore.

Attached is the Iron Man and Transformers Collection xml files (the .xml was failing to upload so I put it up as pdfs...) not sure if that helps or not.

Thanks.

Hey,

This was brought up in the metabrowser tracker and the reason for this is the root node in the xml file being created by metabrowser vs mediabrowser for collections.

Metabrowser creates the xml with a root tag of <Title> (same as movie)

Mediabrowser creates the xml with a root tag of <Item>.

Coming from MB2, which supported folder.xml, it used the <Title> tag same as movies...I guess mb3 is using Item tag instead of Title? Bug or is that what is intended?

we can change future saves to use Title. but there won't be any migration for affected files.

@fatal

it might just be easier for you to support this. is that possible? because then i have to get the info to mcm and he may have to wind up having dual support for a while

Wouldn't changing the tag break all current boxsets already done by MB?

it wouldn't break anything for us. we don't actually look at the name of the root element.

Ah good. Just would fix it for metabrowser. Or you know people could just use MB for metadata  :)
