I open the app, connect to my htpc but i can't find the remote :/ Once u have connected to ur htpc using the square button, just navigate to whatever media u want to watch and hit the play button, it will start on ur htpc and the remote control will be displayed on ur android along with a background photo of what ur watching
Hydro 5 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 OK but if I already launch a movie with my keyboard for example and want to control with android after ?
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 OK but if I already launch a movie with my keyboard for example and want to control with android after ? It's a bug that will be fixed for the next public release. The now playing info should be visible if you connect to a client that's already playing media.
blade005 185 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 MB Android: 2.1.25 Android OS: 4.4.4 Task bar items (i.e. Battery indicator, Time, etc.) do not go away when playing a video on Phone or Tablet. OSD for volume adjustment is not being displayed. Previously I could adjust HLS ON or OFF and video would play, with HLS OFF now, video stream never starts. Just a few things I have notice after recent update.
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 A patch for both issues is going out today. I'm just waiting for feedback from my arsenal of testers.
heretostay 1 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Issue that I seems to be introduced to me with the last update of the Android app (of which I downloaded last night). Yesterday morning, I was able to use the android app with no issues. This morning (after the update), when I bring the app up, I get the "Connecting" message, then it ask me to "select a Media Browser server", of which, there is only one. When I select the server, I get a message that it is "connecting to *server name*" it sits for about 20 seconds, then comes back to the screen asking me to select a server (and will continue with this loop as I am never able to actually connect). I have an android phone and tablet and it behaves this way on both devices. If I use the browser on the phone or tablet (chrome), that works just fine (same with PC and browser interface). I have rebooted both devices and the pc the server is running on with no luck. Any ideas what might be going here? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I had a very similar issue yesterday when my broadband was unavailable for a number of hours. As soon as my broadband service was restored, the app connected first time.

Seems that I didn't try "everything" before posting. Last thing I just tried was adding a new server, but put in the same ip for the existing server. Once I did this, it is now working like a charm. Not sure what the issue was but glad it's working for me again.
blauter78 4 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Love the android app, any plans to have full grid EPG for live TV?
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Love the android app, any plans to have full grid EPG for live TV? Yes, but not in the short term.
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Build 2.1.28 has just been published. Notable changes are Fix status bar showing up during video playback. Also fully hides the soft-keys on Android 4.4+ devices. Pressing "Home" in the navigation drawer now clears the back-stack. So pressing back on the homescreen won't lead to somewhere else in your library.
blade005 185 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Red, MB Andoid: 2.1.28 Android OS: 4.4.4 2.1.28 update is doing something with aspect ratio during playback. Video is cropped on a number of files I tested. Logos in upper left or lower right of screen is only half way displayed if at all, half of peoples heads can be off the top of screen. If a movie is 2 hours 2 minutes and 18 seconds, below is how the player is showing it on screen. 2:02:1 8 All of these files were playing correctly, prior to update. Only playback that seemed correct was Live TV stream.
CBers 7450 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Using v2.1.29 to playback to chromecast, I have had the app freeze twice and had to kill the app. Logs: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9FtGLztFm-gcGVkTm1hdHl5NEU/edit?usp=docslist_api https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9FtGLztFm-gcEk1dmxrUFA5TFU/edit?usp=docslist_api

I just updated to the latest release on my tablet and smartphone but when I play a video it seems to zoom in I've tried to recreate the issue on the devices I have. Can one of you two provide logs.

Redshirt 1487 Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 (edited) What does it look like onscreen? Looking at the log, the video is rendered at 1920X1080 which maintains the source aspect ratio. There should have been black bars top and bottom. nevermind. I see in the log the device doesn't have that large a resolution... I'll fix it. Edited December 20, 2014 by Redshirt

That log was from my Moto X phone, but the same issue is displayed on my Nexus 7 (2012) tablet. It is as the other poster stated, the onscreen view is as if the video were zoomed in on and all of the edges of the video are cut off.
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 I've already figured out what went wrong based on your log. The build is on it's way to my testers now and hopefully the public before the end of the day.
