CBers 7450 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 OK, just checking. Have you tried an external player, such as MX PLAYER ?
Aeolius 6 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 @@CBers I was going to test subtitles with that when I arrive home, right now I'm at work o.O so I'm doing everything remotely, I know MxPlayer works with the sub files I've used for this test so I have a feeling it shouldn't be a problem to direct stream like that. However for the majority of my uses of mediabrowser, which is remote streaming, its not something I can really use. I'm actually hoping to learn some more advanced coding than what I've taught myself so far and possibly help out with this project, but for now doing testing seems like something that could possibly be helpful, granted I'm not sure what all needs to be tested xD.
Aeolius 6 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 @@Redshirt ok I've attached it and renamed it as I have it named in my setup
Redshirt 1487 Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 Aeolius, can you provide one of those Chinese sub files.
Aeolius 6 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 @@Redshirt sorry attachment didn't seem to attach...trying again. Evidently not allowed to post .srt so I just zipped it. 2 Broke Girls S04E01.chi.srt.zip
Aeolius 6 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I did go ahead and test it again in the web browser, chrome, on Android, this time the chinese subs did show up and work correctly, even at extremely low resolution, 240p the video quickly became choppy, not sure if that is MB3 related or not though, could just be the chrome browser not streaming well remotely using data signal, not sure how it gets transcoded for the webclient or streamed to the webclient on mobile devices. I'm going to test those subs again with MediaBrowser Theater when I arrive home tonight.
Redshirt 1487 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Ok, I've figured out why those subtitles didn't show up at all. Even though that's fixed. That subtitle file you shared will still have problems. Hopefully that isn't indicative of what the average srt looks like.
Aeolius 6 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 @@Redshirt yes no problem, let me download the one I used onto my phone and send it to you .
Aeolius 6 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 @@Redshirt so what was happening with the subtitles that's causing the issues on this side?
Aeolius 6 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I haven't stopped setting the next up section resetting itself, however it's not only happening in android which means I should probably report it as a possible glitch server side, should I make a new thread for it? It seems to always reset back to a specific point in time.
Aeolius 6 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I am aware the srt files aren't always in the greatest condition, that's part of the reason I hope the server will incorporate ssa/ass support as those files are put together much better
Redshirt 1487 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 @@Redshirt so what was happening with the subtitles that's causing the issues on this side? The issue was that my .srt parser was tripping up on the Byte order mark at the start of the file. It's an invisible character. I now remove it before parsing. The other issues that I'm going to have to decide what to do, or if I should, are; The caption numbers are not sequential. It jumps from 5 to 11. The parser currently will scan the entire file for caption 6 and then finish. There will only be the 5 captions to display, which leads to the second problem. The captions aren't in the file in order of their timestamp. Those first 5 captions I mentioned are actually shown at the end of the episode. I can't read it but I'm guessing it's the teams shout out. As for the next up section. I'd open a new issue in the server section. If more than one client are affected the server would be a good starting point.
Aeolius 6 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Additionally related to server and subtitles, it doesn't always select the correct encoding for the subtitles.
Aeolius 6 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Yea, 1 to 29 is all shout out, website where subtitles are from, etc 30 to the end is the actual show
Aeolius 6 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Using R3 of Lollipop and still haven't noticed the normal lag with HLS playback, possibly Google has fixed their error o.O
Xzener 729 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Red, is mirror mode with MBC working for you? Just noticed it while setting up all the automation in my theater. Remote is working, I can control MBC during playback... It's just not mirroring while browsing.
Redshirt 1487 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Mirroring should be working on the mobile application profile with the beta I published yesterday.

Didn't know if I was behind. Haven't been here in awhile. Interested in mirroring audio back to my phone and headphones and watching a movie on the TV while not waking wife.

Redshirt 1487 Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 I like the feature but I'll need to add a quickplay button for those nights when I just don't feel like trailers. 1
