Guy 7 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Is anyone else having an "unknown error" message when attempting to playback through the web client on IE for Windows Phone 8.1?
FrostByte 5392 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) I get the same "Unknown Error" real quick before it disappears and then I get the error in the pic when using the webclient. When I use the Windows Phone app there is no problem playing the same file. Edit: Server Version 3.0.5675.1 Edited July 17, 2015 by FrostByte
FrostByte 5392 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Well, the Win phone webclient is doing something else weird. It's transcoding, but it's creating a bunch of 2 second ts files. It's created over 100 of them so far for just this one tv episode and it's still going server http://pastebin.com/KhJzykuJ transcode http://pastebin.com/Wd3QVnvi Edit: decided to kill it before it created too many files Edited July 17, 2015 by FrostByte
techywarrior 689 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 That's normal for transcoded files. It's for HLS streaming. Do you get the video playback error for every file you try and play in the web client on the phone? 1
FrostByte 5392 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Ahh, I've never used the webclient on the phone before now. Always just used the app and it just creates the one file. I've tried one movie, one episode and some music and can't get anything to play with the webclient so far, but I'll try some others
Luke 42077 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 it looks like IE on windows phone is reporting that it supports the Media Source api so that's why we're attempting to use it. I didn't think IE on windows phone supported that. I guess we will have to opt out of that. 1
