berrick 30 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Hopefully a quick and easy fix. When using a web browser I would like to be able to have shows selected by default when I go to TV, Albums for Music or Movies instead of suggestions. Is this possible? 5

plazma 13 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Sorry if this doesn't help the situation, but I faced a similar question, to work around this I turned off advanced presentations for say my TV Shows folder (this way it automatically just lists as alpha numeric list of all shows). However the moment you enter a show the page loads into the advanced mode (so you get back the suggestions/shows/etc options at the top). This does mean you have to obviously have all episodes of x show in the same folder (but as one emby folder can be pointed at multiple smb folders this works great), but as all of my collection is setup like this it worked really well for me The options under: Edit this user's profile, image and personal preferences. Home Screen Enable enhanced presentations for (turn off/unselect all advanced presentation and as I don't need it I also turned off grouping). Edited July 15, 2015 by plazma 1

Might work for some but you're talking about one of the main reasons to use Emby. If I just wanted folders, I could use VLC with a File Explorer app.

Is this possible? It oughta be, it should be the primary view for each category. These are my collections, I know them well! I dont need suggestions shoved down my throat. I'm not trying to sell more movies to myself, my family, or my friends. It's a nice feature to have as a go to for 'I can't decide what to watch' moments, but it's not necessary otherwise. Load Emby (home) > select Movies > select Movies again? I'm seeing this kind of foolishness a lot lately. For example: Click taskbar icon for network connections in Win10 > click VPN connection > Win 10 settings app loads > click VPN connection again > click connect > wait > close Win10 settings app. Seven steps should be three: Click taskbar icon for network connections in Win10 > click VPN connection > click connect Or two: just click a connect button that always shows unless already connected, then show a disconnect button for the connection instead and hide buttons for other connections; or hide other connections all together when connected; and show the disconnect option for current connection. My kid is 6 and basically works off the posters and episode screen shots. needs to open TV section, see all shows and pick one. More words wont help and I think other users want a more direct path to content. I just installed all this and still trying to figure things out. I see what devs are going for with suggestions but maybe a little less in your face forceful? Since _every_ show is unwatched for us right now the feature is not able to do its job... in fact most of the UI is not much help with everything also being "latest". But Im sure the devs have seen this with each reinstall. On a side note, everything is playing on chromecast from all our devices just like it should, looks good. So far happy to switch.

We can all see the devs have been busy but I really would love this option, especially as lots of the niggles that stopped me using emby have been ironed out and slowly it is becoming the only app I use!

Movies should be default for movies and Shows default for TV In fact maybe the whole suggestions thing should have an on/off button in the server options. Why make extra clicks everytime you want to watch something?
FatherSaint 25 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 This is an old post, but is the second hit when searching for the topic, so here we are: [Steps to Configure Default View (TV/Android/Roku)] Navigate to the specific library (e.g., TV Shows). Press the "*" button, navigate to the settings cog, or look for a "... " menu. Select "Set Default Tab" or "Default screen". Choose "Shows" (or "Folders") instead of "Suggestions". [Steps for Web/Desktop] Go to your user settings, then to "Home Screen". Adjust the settings for each library to define the default landing tab. These settings can often be configured per user and per device. 1
