rice 3 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) This account has been completely unlinked from the server yet it still has full access? I even reinstalled the Emby server and removed any traces. Absolutely no local accounts has been linked to any Emby Connect account but when I sign in with my old Emby account I have full access to 'Manage Server' and everything. As you can see here, I'm logged in remotely from another location and the only local account is the default admin account which is currently not linked to any account. Also with this account, I can't seem to delete any of the old servers: LVSERVER is the fresh install of Emby. SERVER is the previous installation and WIN-B6 is test installation of Emby from my laptop. Neither of these can be deleted from the web gui and clicking on SERVER just logs me into LVSERVER. I don't what else to do at this point. BTW, I'm running the latest beta Emby server. Version 3.0.5667.6 Edited July 14, 2015 by rice
rice 3 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 All discussed here. Already read that thread. Hoping for a solution to that but my main issue is why my old Emby account has access to a fresh installation of Emby.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Currently there is no solution. There has to be something cached somewhere because of the three servers I run and test, only one has this issue.
rice 3 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) I'm planning to do another reinstall of Emby. Maybe I missed something somewhere. Are there any directories and/or registries I should delete after uninstallation? C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-InstallLogs What else? rice 3 Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 Okay, nothing to be worried about. I just figured out why my old Emby.media account has access to my server. That's because Emby Connect is basically a shortcut/link to the server to avoid using IP addresses. Obviously. The reason I was able to access the server web panel is because my local admin accounts aren't even password protected. lol. I realized this when I renewed the IP of the server and changed ports. My old account no longer has access and all is good. The whole time I was thinking it worked like Plex. No way to connect remotely without a linked account. That once you unlink your account, it no longer sees the server. The difference here is that Emby allows direct manual connection. No middle man. I feel pretty dumb for not realizing this earlier.
