jhs39 13 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I made the mistake of allowing Emby to update from Emby Version 3.0.5641.4 to the latest "stable" build Version 3.0.5667.6. I started having problems with the server hanging when I try to open some files to download meta-data immediately. I have one file that I cannot go into at all--I just get a spinning circle when I try to edit it with the various fields never even displaying let alone populating. Tried to roll back to earlier version but apparently Emby doesn't let you roll back from one stable version to an earlier stable version. The only way to roll back to the version that works is apparently to uninstall Emby and start from scratch with my libraries. I'm not sure how 3.0.5667.6 got categorized as stable but Emby users should think twice before updating.
Luke 42081 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 We're happy to help, but please see http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/
jhs39 13 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 I've already gone through the whole thing with adding logs. I just moved from a beta version full of problems to version 3.0.5641.4 two days ago and now I've got a stable version with problems.
Luke 42081 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 i've looked through your topics and i don't see mention of a spinning circle and a page stuck. you opened one about album art not getting downloaded, but that sounds very different.
jhs39 13 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 That was one of the previous issues--when I tried to update some artists or movies or albums I would just get a spinning circle that would never stop. With most of the albums I could go into edit and there would be Musicbrainz information pre-loaded by Emby but it would never populate anything. But with others (music artists and videos rather than albums) I would get the spinning circle before any fields would even open and it's happening again with the latest stable version. http://paste2.org/YdhkEeZg Here's the latest log post installation.
Luke 42081 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 thanks. can you give me a sequence of what you click on so that i can reproduce the same steps? Thanks.
jhs39 13 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 The server was able to download the info for the movie I couldn't open in the background while I was doing other things. If it happens again I will provide a more detailed description.
