tracyo64 0 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 As no one will ever actually answer the question "how can I disable Automatic Updates", I am officially giving up on this server. I do not like the latest updates, and was not given a choice whether or not to accept them. That makes you no better than AOL to me. Thank you for your efforts. I really enjoyed it up until recently, when unwanted updates were installed. 'Bye
Luke 42081 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Hi there, In scheduled tasks, you can go to the application update task and remove all of the triggers that execute it. That should give you what you want to do. We'll add an explicit setting to the next release to make this easier.
Heckler 147 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 So how do you revert to a previous version that worked fine @@Luke because I'm sick and tired of the last 3 updates introducing more issues than they fix... this latest one is nothing short of a joke that cannot be used via a browser even when trying to browse on the same damn machine that the server is on.
plazma 13 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Im not sure if it filtered down yet (im running beta) someone else would need to confirm, but if your running beta go back to normal after an install then disable auto updates as luke kindly instructed. As webm has just been dropped completely in beta 3 versions back this has cause a few issues here for handful of users that I can make out and, but nothing that wont like be ironed out quickly. Or if you can turn off auto updates for now and then post back what issues you have im sure people are happy to offer solutions and workarounds if need be. ;-)

Because I removed all of the triggers because I was sick of updates that forced themselves... guess what... updates are still forced upon the user.... It's a shitty way to treat users, it's my server and I want to have control over if or even when I want to update it. The way emby has been going downhill of late, there's no way in hell I want any update installed. But we're not allowed to revery back to an earlier version, nor are we allowed to stop it from forcing new updates onto us... Shitty way to treat users.
techywarrior 689 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 It's too late at this point (since you are already on a version you aren't happy with) but running the server as a service still has the issue where it can't perform the update automatically. You could utilize that "feature" to prevent the auto updates.

techywarrior 689 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Just trying to help you out. Also, if you use the custom CSS feature in the dashboard (I think it's in Advanced -> Branding) to hide the large player overlay it won't be overwritten when the server updates. 1

I appreciate that... but I have just spent over 4hrs fixing the problems the latest update caused and then got shat on from a great height as soon as I plugged it back into the network... and all of those issues that make emby unusable completely were dumped on me again. I am beyond angry... I am furious, livid... I don't think you understand just how restrained I am being right now... I am fully prepared to say fuck it, delete it all and find something else entirely... I have 12TB of media that no one can fucking watch or listen to at the moment because of this colossal fuck up.
