So what's the point of Lock Metadata?

Despite the Movie folder and all the individual movie folders being locked, all my cast and crew data is gone from the .xml. And even if I copy and paste the .xml from a backup, with the cast & crew, it's still not showing (never mind that the images quit first).

 

I have the library on my NAS. If I delete it, and switch to one of my backups connected to the pc instead of the network, I get cast and crew. The movies play and all the other images display, but not the cast and crew, even without the images.

 

I've deleted the xml and rescaned, pasted new xml, checked all the settings, and nothing seems to make a difference. Don't know what else I can try.

I can see an issue where in certain situations the lock isn't respected. Apologies. I have a dev build going up now with the fix that you can grab - 3.0.5671.30515

I was hoping for some insight on why it erased the data in the first place. I don't really want to go through 524 movies, just to have it happen again.

 

Thanks for looking into the lock situation though. I'll wait for the beta, as I'm not very technically oriented.
