archangelz 13 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Does anyone know what will happen with Emby web client on Windows 10 browser? if the windows 10 browser is used, will all the codecs windows supports natively allow the web client not to transcode? If Chrome is used, will be still be limited to the codecs Chrome currently supports in windows 10. i.e. H264 + AAC. Windows 10 is supposed to support FLAC, MKV containers, additional subtitle suport, H265, Divx and the like natively... wondering how this translates in the browser for those already using it. I'm signed up for the upgrade later this month, but haven't looked at any previews builds yet and I haven't got the upgrade myself so I'm not sure. Just curious for now. Luke 42078 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 The Edge browser has native HLS support so it will work great. It will mostly be the same experience no matter what browser you use though. Google is rapidly adding all kinds of api's to access native resources, so it is my prediction that it won't be too long before this changes in Chrome. But for now, it is what it is. 1
