wtvisser 0 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I installed Emby on my ds214play using the tutorial provided. It seems to work well, however, scanning the library is taking forever and not getting any further for some hours now. I have quite some media files, but its seems it is not making any progress at all. Is there anything i can do?
wtvisser 0 Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 The library is not going forward with its scan. I see some files available in the home screen, but emby is so slow its impossible to play any, or even edit the title or something. I've attached a log

wtvisser 0 Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Thanks, i have gotten much furder, although all my data is logically named and arranged. I guess mono is one of the processes doing big harm here and slowing the nas down in everthing. I this a known issue?
Gernash 19 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 @wtvisser Can you explain the mono conclusion a bit further also what version you are using/ Thanks
wtvisser 0 Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) @wtvisser Can you explain the mono conclusion a bit further also what version you are using/ Thanks This made me think emby+mono is using many resources. I've got 3.10.0-4. I installed it last week and since my nas is slow as can be. So therefore i think this is the reason, but i am not sure however. EMby is also running very very slow (grandma style) Edited July 12, 2015 by wtvisser
Gernash 19 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) @wtvisser Mono shouldn't use much in reguards to cpu resources idling the cpu is only 32bit. A dual core Intel Atom CE5335 transcoding will be total awful atm on it. Play with video station it has a fully optimized transcoder for it. And it works well. Edited July 14, 2015 by Gernash
