Trouble Connecting outside of Network.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Emby and I'm having trouble accessing my server outside of my home network. I've checked the forums but still haven't found a solution. I am able to connect to the app with my log in information and see the server name but when I click on the server I see the message "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again." I can assure you the server is running. I have a Centurylink c1000a Modem/Router and have forwarded the 8920 and 8096 ports along with my computer's IP Address 192.xxx.x.x. I used a program (port forward Network Utilities) to check if the ports were open and it tells me they are. Both My Android App and my windows installion are up-to-date (Version 3.0.5641.4) and I have done a fresh install just to check if I messed anything up in settings. I'm new to port forwarding but I feel like I did it right. Is there anything that I am missing that will allow me to access the server from the internet?

Do not open emby for windows (maybe linux and etc) for internet, very critical security reason.

Master Luke working on it.

Can you please give more details on these? What is the source of this?

Are you using Emby Connect or a DynDNS Service to address your server? Please also ensure that the MBS server has the rights to read and write to internet in your firewall. (if you are using one) Just for testing, you can disable your firewall for a short time.

Thanks both for the replies

If there is a security reason I'll turn it back off when I get it to work but I still want to figure it out for when it does get fixed.

@ Tranquil

In my firewall settings it has both ports set as allowed. I have my firewall turned off while I test it and I am still unable to connect. By Emby Connect do you mean the app for Android? If so then that is the one I use. I just use the icon in my system tray (on desktop) to connect.

Edit: So I Realize you are probably asking something I don't quite understand =P...I went into my modem/router and I see that "DynDNS" is disabled...I believe I am just using Emby Connect.

Just installed 3.0.5667.6. Sadly, still no luck accessing emby from outside my home network though.

Yes, I see Both 8920 and 8096 open on my IP Address.

If I got this right you are unable to connect via emby connect, are you able to connect via {wanip}:8096?

So something just changed for the better. I am able to connect now (on the mobile app) via the "Add Server" button after I manually enter my IP and port information. I believe that the server button that wouldn't connect used my old server before I did a fresh install of Emby? Could be wrong though. Is there anyway to delete this older server (so it doesn't show up) that doesn't allow me to connect? Thanks so much for all the help thus far.

In theory yes, I don't have any mobile apps but there should be a delete option.

Currently there are a few of us that have issues deleting.

There is a link at the top of the forum "Web Client" you can use to connect and try to delete also.
