ThermoDust 12 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I was playing around with some sync settings and tried baseline and general. Both playback on my Windows Phone without the need to transcode, which is wonderful! Then I started to look what settings were used and what the main difference was and couldn't find any. Can you please explain how those two settings are different?
Luke 42081 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 sometimes they will be the same depending on the input content, but the main difference is that baseline further restricts audio to exclude ac3 support because that's not going to be supported by web browsers
ThermoDust 12 Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Can't you just have it use dual audio tracks one AAC one AC3? Also, where can I get those settings from for ffmpeg as I like the quality and it works on everything so I may do a mass convert.
Luke 42081 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 In theory I suppose, but I don't think dual audio tracks is a good approach when you're targeting mass compatibility. I would just grab the command line from the server log.
ThermoDust 12 Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 good point. lol, not sure why I didn't think of looking in the log rather than reading the code trying ot find it thanks for the replies.
