phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Hello! Just wanted to start by saying thank-you for creating such an awesome media server! Now, onto my problem. I have a media file ripped from a DVD in my library, and if I run 'mediainfo' on it, I can see that it is indeed interlaced (480i): I will attach said log, but below is a snippit (notice highlighted fields): GeneralComplete name : EP06_A_Victory_For_Democracy.mpgFormat : MPEG-PSFile size : 1.25 GiBDuration : 30mn 17sOverall bit rate mode : VariableOverall bit rate : 5 896 KbpsVideoID : 224 (0xE0)Format : MPEG Video...Scan type : InterlacedScan order : Top Field First However, if I look at the file info using the EMBY server HTML5 site, it (incorrectly) registers the file as progressive (again, notice highlighted field): Media Info Video CodecMPEG2VIDEOProfileMainLevel8Resolution720x480Aspect ratio4:3...InterlacedNo Consequently, when I watch the media file, no deinterlacing happens, and I get some pretty serious combing =) I'm running EMBY server version 3.0.5641.5. Let me know if there is any other information I can provide! Andrew Taylor mediainfo.log
Luke 42081 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 try refreshing from the metadata manager just to see if it was a one time fluke or not. thanks.
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 How do I refresh the metadata? I don't see a button for "reload metdata" in the "Metdata" section of the server managerment webpage. Thanks!
ebr 16185 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Edit the item in question and hit "Advanced Refresh".
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Ok, I tried an advanced refresh on the item itself, as well as the whole series, and Emby still reports the video as progressive.
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 Just 'bumbing' my thread, since I haven't heard anything from you guys for a while =) Andrew
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Can Do! I snipped a small portion of the intro from the episodes. I've been trying to keep the quality equal to that from the DVD, so I haven't compressed it (hence why a small clip is pretty large). If you'd like something longer, let me know, but I assume all you need is the information from the header. Andrew yes_prime_minister_a_victory_for_democracy_snippet.mpg
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Inputting that file into the server I got this. Windows V3.0.5667.6 Edited July 14, 2015 by Happy2Play
Luke 42081 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Same here. It must be dependent on the input then.
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Ok, then I guess there must be something screwy with my setup : / Thanks for your help guys =)
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Actually, I noticed you are using a newer version of Emby. Could that explain the discrepency? I'm running version Version 3.0.5641.5
Luke 42081 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I'm not really sure what you mean. but i think it is related to the input
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Sorry, what do you mean by "it's related to the input"? Is there something I need to change?
Luke 42081 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 the input files. whatever tool you used to extract that small segment probably cleaned up the file structure as well
phenomkrogoth 0 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 I don't think that avconv (the tool I used) cleaned it up, because I tried viewing viewing the snippet in Emby, and it said it was progressive. I've included a screenshot.
