PoBear 19 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi I've moved my problem from yesterday in to its own topic. I'm running the latest version of Theater, I have done a re-install from the download page, on my test machine, I'm trying to connect to a Server on another machine across a wired n/w. When I start Theater I get a request for a user and password, my users have no password but I've created a new one with a password, each time I get a message "unable to connect to remote server. The server is up and running, I can see the machine on the network and can ping it using it's n/w name and the IP address. I can connect using the web client and Emby Classic running on the same machine. The server originally had a DHCP address but I've changed it to a static one, all machines and the router recognise the new address. The problem existed before I changed the IP. theater-63571985174.txt theater-63571982029.txt
mystic.bertie 23 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 i get occasional login problems that can only be fixed by uninstalling emby, deleteing the 2 emby folders in C - users - xxxx - appdata - roaming, restart pc, reinstall, if i dont delete the folders im faced with the login screen each time i reinstall. I just had to do my pc and laptop today.
Solution PoBear 19 Posted July 9, 2015 Author Solution Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) I had a look at the Config files. The servers.json has the machine name (correct) and the IP address (incorrect). I updated the file with the correct address but still had a request for user and password. Interestingly when I checked the file again it had the incorrect IP address again. Renaming the file appears to have fixed the problem, I'll check it for a couple days. Edited July 9, 2015 by PoBear
Scott Kemp 3 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 There needs to be a menu option in the application to manage the server connections!
