diaz1510 154 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 What's the general consensus for the best Emby Web Client experience? I used Firefox for a long time, but there are small nagging issues, then went to IE but it's got it's own small nagging issues...but where do I go from here? None of the issues are show-stoppers but enough to annoy me to change to a different browser. Is the web client geared toward any particular browser over any others?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Don't think there is one. There will always be idiosyncrasies in browsers because none of them are 100% standards compliant.
Luke 42077 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Chrome will generally be best because Google is pushing forward very quickly adding all kinds of api's to work with the native system. The other browsers then take their time implementing them, which means other techniques have to be found in order to achieve the same thing. In most cases though the only difference is going to be performance, so if you're happy with the browser you're using then just stick to that.
Raff 51 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 FWIW: - Chrome is my "metadata manager" client on my PC. I am not aware of anything that is broken, but I don't actually use it for playing. In general it feels faster than Firefox when navigating around in Emby. - Whatever version of IE on the XB1 works fine on the browsing media side, but the Metadata Manager tree doesn't show up so I can't do serious navigation. Since I only use it to find stuff to Play To and an occasional "Refresh" on actors I know should be recognized, it is not a big deal to me.
