ves 1 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) I have been using Qloud server for a very long time and like it a lot. I have been looking for a replacement since I have been moving away from windows for a while now and need a good Linux replacement. Tried literally dozens including plex, wowza, etc etc. I hate the format they use. I have my movies and shows organized into folders and that how I want them presented on my devices. New content added is a bonus but overall I would prefer to see my content listed by folders. I seem to be able to do it somewhat on my android devices but not so much when going directly to the tv. I have gone through the settings and pretty much turned off everything as I could care less about extra content I just want it to be plain vanilla but work the way I want it to. Am I missing something somewhere to get my media to show up in folders as I have them now on qloud? Any help is appreciated.... I guess I should have put this in the Linux forum but I am testing on Windows atm and getting the folders to show should work pretty much the same on either............ NVM After putzing around with it for a while I managed to get it to do what I wanted. Edited June 27, 2015 by ves 1
ves 1 Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 Well I had high hopes for this. The movie part works extremely well and once I figured out how to make it show in folders it was perfect. This problem is I need to do the same thing with Audio books, I have tried for hours using every combination I can think of and it just does not list or play them correctly. I host a lot of audio books for a parent who is legally blind and was hoping I could use this to make the switch from qloud. Not to be I guess. Will check in once in a while to see if anything changes............................

Definitely keep checking back because more extensive audio book support is planned.
ves 1 Posted June 28, 2015 Author Posted June 28, 2015 Thanks for the reply. I do like the movie side of things it works well and now I am able to go directly into the TV verses using android on a stick which is nice. I did try and classify them as music and its close but does not do them exactly right. I have to go in and rename most audio files to 001,002 etc and for some reason when I use Embly to classify them as music it actually reads the original name of the files(which surprised me) and does not play them in the correct order as they should be. I am thinking that has something to do with the program wanting to look up tracks and get the info about the album which is great but not needed for audio books. Its actually too smart for the audio files and doing more work than it needs to do; just reading the names of the files and playing them in order would be perfect. I have no doubt the issue will be resolved and I will keep my eye on the site for updates; then you can count me in as a lifetime supporter. Thanks again...............
