Smaky 131 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) I am wondering how should I setup a group of movies I have enconded both in H264 and H265. I know the naming convention for multiple resolutions... 720p, 1080p. In this case, both are 1080p but one version is H264 and the other is H265. Is there any way to name the movie appropiately so Emby will identify them both as the same movie with two different encondings? BTW, both novies are in MKV container. Edited June 24, 2015 by Smaky
Luke 42083 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 you can give them any suffix you want. movie.mkv movie-apple.mkv
Smaky 131 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 I just did... in this case Movie.H265,mkv vs Movie.mkv.. problem is, they show up as two different items in the library and not as variations of a single one.
AdrianW 1058 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) The separator must be a hyphen - so, for example use "Movie.mkv" and "Movie-h265.mkv". Generally, the names before the hyphen must be identical for emby to treat them as the same movie. Edited June 24, 2015 by AdrianW
Smaky 131 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) I noticed the formatting in Luke´s post... I renamed the movie to Cinderella (2015),mkv and Cinderella (2015)-h265.mkv. Then rescanned the library. Still two sepparate items. (Two sets of images downloaded, etc.) Edited June 24, 2015 by Smaky
Smaky 131 Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 Finally got it to work... the problem was that I was naming the movie as Cinferella (2015)-h265.mkv instead of them being named Cinderella (2015) - h266.mkv and Cinderella (2015) - h264.mkv (Notice the extra spaces between the dashes. After renaming and scanning the database I got it to be recognized as a single movie in two different formats.
