Deihmos 169 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I have a question about transcoding in the browser. I uploaded an mkv video with 5.1 dolby digital to dropbox and onedrive and they both played fine in the browser on the dropbox and onedrive site. Why does emby have to transcode?
Luke 42078 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 i am pretty sure they are playing a transcoded version. not transcoded on the fly but rather they convert to a web-friendly version for browser playback when you upload.
