misterf 2 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Hi guys, I'm french and I'm using Media Browser (now formely Emby) for quite a long time now. Huge fan. I have an issue with Emby server that has changed every title of every movie. It was all in French (as I said above, I'm French, I've been French since I was born and will complain about everything all my life as every French people do) and now every label switched to English. I tried to update my library trying to force French almost everywhere but still It doesn't switch back. I know I can change it on a single movie using "identify" button, but as you can imagine, I have plenty of renaming to do. I'm lazy. Help I'm lost thx
FrostByte 5392 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) You could move to the UK... or, change the preferred language in the dashboard. Edited June 21, 2015 by FrostByte 2
misterf 2 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 ok, it sounds like I am newbie. I am not. my emby server is already in french. I just said that a new version of emby server changed every titles in English BUT Emby server still shows French as primary language. I surely could move to UK 'cause I love it. Especially Oxford which is so beautiful. 2
FrostByte 5392 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Sorry, it was one of those days. You could try going into the Metadata Manger then to Movies top level and changing the country to France there and then refreshing. I do not know why it would have changed all your metadata though.
misterf 2 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 already tried it. no luck. I am that desperate to post into a forum ;-)
moviemadnessman 13 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 This happened to me with a few of my collections switching to German. I think that there were changes on themoviedb.com which resulted in some lost info ... I just had to go and resubmit proper translations for a few collections for it to fix on my server. Might be worth checking out to see if the problem is not actually something with the site that emby pulls metadata from (which it was for me, at least with this particular issue). If it is every title, I'm not sure what could have changed it, but if it was just a few, I would check on themoviedb.com to make sure they have a translation in your language (otherwise it goes with the first one in the list I think).
Ivan_ 0 Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Hi, I encounter the same problem. I have two servers running at home. At the beginning I was planning to have Emby server installed on my linux rig but as the previous versions were not stable I decided to run it on my windows desktop. Now that the linux version is stable I installed it again for testing. This is how I currently have two servers for the same library before migrating to linux. The windows version have the french movie title everywhere but the linux version has some movies with the original title (in english). The difference between the two is that le linux has a recent scan of the library whereas the Win one was performed some weeks ago.
inforbaix 5 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I have the same problem with the Spanish language. Some movies has changed her title for the original title in english. Any solution??
Luke 42079 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 with this upcoming server release this should no longer happen. thanks.
inforbaix 5 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Yes!!! Now, with the new release, do not happens. But, I have more than half library with the title incorrect. Have a system for scan the library and auto repair the title?? Thanks a lot.
cemmec 0 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I am still having this issue. My Emby is updated to the latest version, but movie names are still being changed from potuguese (pt-br), to the original name (usually english). Even if I try to manually identify the movie, it changes the title. Is this still an issue or am I doing something wrong?

cemmec 0 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 No. I was only updating to official releases, so I was on 3.0.5641.4. Updated to the latest beta and is working fine. Thanks for the help!
inforbaix 5 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 HI, sorry for my insistence, but, with the actual version 3.0.5666.8, the problem aparently was solved. My problem now is, how to rename all the movies with the title changed to her correctly titles in spanish?? Manually?? More than thousand movies?? There is no way for the server to do it automatically?? I think it is an important subject and should give us a solution to this.
Luke 42079 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I think a manual metadata refresh should do it. Try once on a single title then from there you can do it on a top level folder
inforbaix 5 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Many thanks!!! I checked some movies before I knew who were with the title in English, and are now in Spanish. I have not checked all, but I imagine it will also be modified. Thanks again.
misterf 2 Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 no luck with emby server 3.0.5675.1 It doesn't work with a global refresh but it does work if I manually set my movie metadata using French country. But you can imagine that I won't set it up to EVERY movie in my collection. I even tried to remove my movie library and set it up again to rebuild that library with no success. Any idea to clean it?
misterf 2 Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I saw it. Maybe I wasn't clear in my previous post. I tried to change language preference for a few movies and refreshed: it worked. I tried to change parent folder language preference and refreshed: It didn't worked.
ricknds 6 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Hello to all, It seems that the problem came back. At least in my language ( Brazilian Portuguese ). Since the last server update, all metadata are being downloaded in English language. Can anyone verify this problem? Thanks!

The MovieDb has no PT-BR, so if you select PT-BR, you'll get english for your movies. Not sure about the tvdb for tv.
ricknds 6 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Thank's for your answer!! I switched the language to PT-PT and IT WORKED!!! Thank you again! Enviado de meu TA7801W usando Tapatalk
