Custom Player Interface:Mouse does not activate

After testing it a bit, I never used the new player interface when it came out. The main reason was because I couldnt drag the progress bar on some files (it would drag but not actually advance the video and jump back to where the video actually was playing).  I decided to give it another go tonight and this issue seems to be resolved since then.  However now I've noticed that moving the mouse does not activate the interface.  I checked in my settings, and yes the option for mouse movement is enabled.    

 

Any thoughts on why or how I could troubleshoot?  Running latest stable server and emby for wmc.

 

On a side note, and i'm not sure if this is by design, accident, or just on my pc, but you cannot move the place in time by dragging/clicking on the progress bar if the media you are watching is paused.
