where did the ibn folder go?

Good afternoon,

after I upgraded to the latest release yesterday I noticed that all my custom icons had been replaced by the standard ones.  I had to actually re download and install the server portion due to it not showing up in my apps for some reason? Once it was reinstalled, it still wouldn't show up in my apps.  It did however lose all my settings and need to be reset.  I cant find the ibn folder to replace the custom icons and all that remains is the media browser folder with the icons intact, however nothing else.  Where did it get moved to?  I also have the issue while watching anything, if the skip ahead or back button is pressed it terminates the app and it has to be restarted and upon doing do it looses its place and you cant resume.

The emby app is on my win7 htpc.

Thanks

ok great.  I just booted up my server and emby is gone again.  No where to be seen.  Where is it and why is the auto load feature not working?  What am I missing?

Thanks

Has Emby server just not started?

What AV software do you have installed? Perhaps it's blocking it.

I ran into the same exact issue, wherein Emby's .EXE disappeared after an upgrade.

Norton Internet Security will delete the file named "MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe".

NIS' Sonar component will consider the file a vulnerability, as the file is not highly-used.

I made Sonar/Realtime Protection/Scan exclusions for this folder: \AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ and all of its subfolders.

I wouldn't be surprised if other anti-malware vendors are also considering the .EXE as being a vulnerability.

Also, to answer your original question...

IBN is located on your server side, default location is under: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\metadata

If you want to move it to a new location, open your Emby configuration page, go to Server, Metadata, Advanced and type in the new location within the 'Metadata' field.

I'm pretty sure Emby will automatically kick-off a new Scan Media Library task. If it does not, then you probably want to manually execute one.

JayT:) Thanks for the great explanation for BOTH questions.  In this case it doesn't seem as if Norton is blocking it.  I rebooted this morning and it was there?  I had also checked the ibn location previous to my original post and just an empty folder was there, but like the app on reboot wasn't there either still.  It is now, and problem solved.

Thanks again for the great answers!

I spoke too soon.  After rechecking again, all the folders were where they were supposed to be with nothing different, yet non of the icons or studio images will display.  So I must still be overlooking something?

I also found that the people are not being displayed.  I remember in the old version clearing the cache, but how do I do that in this version?  That may be the issue with my original issues?  All the folders are in the right place so I cant think of anything else it could be.

Thanks
