hjone72 9 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Hi, I have noticed that Folder Sync is very very slow. I have some files (4GB) which I have asked Emby to Sync to a folder in original format. The "Syncing" (copying) of the actual media item takes an incredible amount of time and is nowhere near hitting any limits of my hardware. Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks, EDIT: 43 minutes and 44 seconds to copy 4.1GB. If I use file explorer I can average at above 500MB/s Edited June 17, 2015 by hjone72
Luke 42081 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 it's probably the conversion that's taking a while, no?
ebr 16185 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 He said he did "original quality". Wouldn't that mean there was no conversion?
hjone72 9 Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 it's probably the conversion that's taking a while, no? Definitely not. The server converts media in around 20min normally. However no conversion process takes place in this scenario He said he did "original quality". Wouldn't that mean there was no conversion? Yup but even if I do convert the file the actual "Sync" or "Copy" part of the process takes ages. Looking at task manager the actual copy process is going at <2MB/s
