Ok tried clearing online cache - still can't install theater - does this mean I have to recreate user profile?? A previous install of theater didn't uninstall correctly I think?? Any ideas guys ??? Had everything working perfectly 2 days ago , now I'm seriously fed up.

double check to make sure there isn't an emby theater installation.  If so, uninstall that one, and then try for a fresh install.

Windows saying previous install is uninstalled but I'm not sure it did so correctly. What do i need to look for to delete. All this started with beta update giving false positive on antivirus. Any help much appreciated.

Does anyone know, before I take drastic action, if there is any other way of solving the problem of installing theater other than clearing the online cache  and recreating the user profile?

still getting application cannot be started - contact vendor.    What are the requirements it looks for before installing?   Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated

Did you try deleting the folder (including all the files and subdirectories) %appdata%\MediaBrowser-Theater? Helped me once.
