Trimline 0 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I just built three separate servers trying to observe this issue. What I discovered is that the agent correctly fetches the cast in the /People table (there are 500 + in the "A" list), but the system script that attaches the pictures to the actual movie display seems to be a problem. Manually, I can do a "refresh" on the picture and it will work; the system is failing to connect the picture library and update the XML, even after doing a complete refresh. All three servers running Version 3.0.5641.4 failed to properly update. Is there a tool available to run and correct the XML?
Vicpa 611 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Hi @@Happy2Play It would appear also that the movie db is throttling requests. I added two movies this am and did a refresh people. Got 429 errors. See attached errors from the log. actorUpdate.txt
Tolerant 74 Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Now that mine is cleaned out and re-run the scans etc, I am down to about 20k folders and it is holding there. Re-running RED does show a few empty folders, I am guessing from new titles added but nothing like the extra almost 50k empties I had before.
hifiaudio2 48 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I am also noticing that even for the relative few images that got pulled from the automatic sync, none of them have any of the writeup or info. Only a manual search pulls that info, and always with a different default picture. So the manual refresh on a case by case basis must be pulling info from a different place than the automatic. Edit... in fact, I think only TV actors are working on the auto sync. So perhaps only TVDB is working, and not movieDb... as suggested above with the error log? But again the manual refresh works fine..
bxsteez 3 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I'm having the same issue. I thought it was missing files but it's actually not. Emby Server just doesn't connect the people folder unless it's a manual refresh. I wonder if this is a known issue? @@ebr is this a known issue?
Alejandrix 0 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I'm also having this issue with version 3.0.5805.0
Luke 42078 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 For the next release and in the current beta, behavior is improved to help with this. When scanning in new titles, even if you have existing metadata we'll still go out to the internet to try and pull in people information. Also, when opening individual person detail screens, there will be some on demand refreshing to attempt to fill in metadata for people that don't have any.
