Zelig 48 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 The thing is I have a dinamic external IP address given by my ISP. Recently i rebooted my router wich gave me a new external IP address. But the Emby server still has the old IP address as the external IP address it uses for conecting outside my network. As a consecuence i cannot connect to my server with the web App outside my network. Funny thing is that, using the android App, I've deleted the old server in the App and created a new one with the new IP an I can connect with the server and everithing Works just fine even ouside my metwork using 3G. Since the web App dosen't have a "créate new server" option, Can't do that. I've deleted the server and now I don't have any when I log in. Tried to créate an invite but the mail with the link is not generated and i don't recibe any link. It¡s been two days since the change in the IP and have restarted the server several times to see if it will catch the new IP but with no luck. IS there a way to introduce manually the new external IP in the server? Why I am unable to créate a guest invite? Thanks for your time.
Luke 42080 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 the server will adjust but it may take a few hours. in the meantime you can configure your external ip manually under advanced -> hosting

This has happened to me too, and I have tried doing numerous things such as update, switch to dev release (which doesn't actually update to dev release), reinstalled server, imported old configs, etc... Before it used to get the external address as soon as the server started but now it's been almost 4 hours and nothing. Anything I can do for a quick temp fix? Edit: I am on OpenMediaVault though, sorry for posting in the wrong forum. Edited June 11, 2015 by Saad
JeremyFr79 228 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Best solution is to setup an account with a dynamic DNS provider and use that from now on, that way no matter when your IP changes your "domain name" wont. There are many free providers and is typically pretty easy to setup. Best to check with your router manufacturer as to which one's they directly support makes setup that much easier. Then once you have that setup just use the domain name in emby server never have to worry again. Edited June 11, 2015 by JeremyFr79
