McChen 7 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 On the Emby server I have a user that has Live TV access disabled. However, in the Emby for Android TV client, when I login as this user, the "On Now" category still shows up. Selecting and trying to view any of these Live TV shows freezes the Emby client and shows a blank grey screen. You have to Force Stop the app in order to get it to reset. I believe the "On Now" category should not be shown if Live TV access is disabled for the user.
ebr 16169 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Luke - it seems like this is something that should be handled at the server end. If I request programs and the user has access to Live TV disabled, I would expect to get no programs returned.
McChen 7 Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 I discovered that the grey screen freeze bug happens when the user doesn't have transcoding permissions on the server and the user tries to view a stream that requires transcoding. If I disable Live TV for a user, but give them transcoding permissions, the Live TV stream is watchable and doesn't give the blank grey screen. You can pull up the full EPG and watch any show successfully.
