Tolerant 74 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Ok.. SO I used to use "Tolerant" to sign in, now I use "Tim", or I use the email address associated with my account. However, when I try to use Emby Connect, it tells me I have no server listed and I need to associate my account. So I go into the web UI of the Windows Server and I go to my User account. I enter the EMAIL address and click save.. and this is what I get in response: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: ConnectServerId Help. I cannot see a server from Emby Connect, I cannot edit my user to add the server, so I am stuck in a catch 22. I just lost my main HD and am attempting to restore things to "normal" and not having much luck with Emby and all I want to do is go back to enjoying my media but this is just insane.
Tolerant 74 Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 The reason this happened btw. was Because I saw the server name that I knew I would be changing and I deleted it from the emby connect page, before I finished signing up with the new server name in the server config on my local windows machine. I had "Emby Server" originally and was changing it to just "Emby" because of course it is a server. Without having that info available to me to edit in the setup of my own server it left me in a blackhole and not being able to fix it. Apparently someone has figured this out, as the Dev version (which I found mentioned in another post) correctly let me link my account, Kudos to whomever. So this problem is resolved but I will leave the thread for info purposes. Thanks.
mikepuk 0 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Can you explain what the solution is to this then?
ebr 16185 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Can you explain what the solution is to this then? Update to the beta server just released.
djdevon3 8 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) New user here. Just signed up and installed emby. Was having the same exact issue yesterday. Caused me hours of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Stable 3.0.5621.4 was the issue. So I guess it wasn't that stable if I couldn't even complete the initial server setup. Upgrading to Beta 3.0.5641.1 fixed it. Recommend you set the Beta as the Stable version and come up with a new Beta. Edited June 13, 2015 by djdevon3

djdevon3 8 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) I have plaintext filtering on. If you are going to include a link do not embed it so that it can't be seen by those who care about security and use plaintext only mail. Email from this site is the only confirmation link I've ever received that isn't compatible with plaintext mail. Recommend you take another look at your email policies and scripting. From every major company to the smallest insignificant forum has plaintext compatible confirmation links... Embedding in email is bad. Edited June 13, 2015 by djdevon3
