Hi guys,

I run emby Version 3.0.5621.4 on debian 7.0. (I use the setup instructions on emby.media web site)

At first, I was not able to play anything and I figured out it was related to ffmpeg.

So I updated it using that script :

https://gist.github.com/holms/7009218#file-full-ffmpeg-sh

Now videos are playing in browser or android app.

But I'm unable to skip or forward to a certain time (control seems disabled)

I can play, pause, change volume.

Could you help me ?

P.S. I thought it might be related to permissions and gave 777 recursive to my content directory.

no luck.

Thanks.

can you post the emby server and transcoding log ?thanks.

I think it has to do with the transcoding of the video format. Many of my .avi files have this problem but mkv and mp4 are fine.

Ok ellnic in this thread seems to have a problem similar to mine.

If I click a particular episode then edit and finally refresh manually in the metadata editor, after that, seek/skip/forward is working.

So it might be related to ffprobe metadata updater ?

I think I found another hint.

Seasons were not named correctly.

ex: instead of S01, S02, S03

it was like ;

gods.of.the.arena.s00

s03.heroes

I renamed quite a few and rerun the "scan media library" task from the scheduled tasks of the dashboard and it seems better

I know it was asked but Plex was really god at finding metadata with all kind of naming schemes.

Could you tell me if there is a way to improve that for Emby ?

(a setting or something)

Thanks for this great software alternative and continue your good work

:)

oh now seek/skip/forward is back and enabled since the seasons directory rename

but episodes still don't fetch metadata except if I click edit and refresh manually on each one, is there a way to solve that also ?
