xnappo 1611 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Hi All, In my quest to get at Meta-data parity with XBMC with my MB3 add-on, I noticed that the 'Aspect Ratio' field is not populated for any of my movies. Is this just not implemented in the scraper yet? Thanks! xnappo
xnappo 1611 Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) what field, where? So probably disregard - I was looking at what shows up in the web client as the 'Original Aspect Ratio' field which is just called 'AspectRatio' in BaseItemDto. I see now I can(and should) grab the real ratio from the MediaStream data instead for the sake of the plugin. xnappo Edited November 19, 2013 by xnappo
ebr 16169 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 No, we cannot deprecate that because the media streams aspect ratio depends on exactly how the item was created and will not match what people consider the OAR in many cases. I've always wished there were a good online source for the OAR of films but there still isn't one. So, if you are picky about it (and have a 2.35 scope setup like me) then you just have to maintain this field yourself.
xnappo 1611 Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 Thanks Guys. It would have clued me in to look at the stream sooner if the field was called 'OriginalAspectRatio' - but not worth the change.. xnappo
Luke 42077 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 exactly. we probably ought to deprecate that other one. need to check with @@ebr and mbc.
Luke 42077 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 For display purposes you should check the base item one, then fall back to the raw media stream value if there's nothing there.
