MndWrp 101 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Hello all! I was wondering if its a good idea to convert all my xml metadata into nfo form. I know xml isn't dropped from emby but it seems to be now preferred to have nfo. Will having nfo provide some advantage going foward? ...and if so how do i go about converting the data? Thanks!
MndWrp 101 Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Judging by he flood of responses I'm guessing this must be a dumb question...
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Choose whichever you want. Write both if you want as they don't really take up much space in the long run. In reality both file formats are XML files. NFO files just use a stupid extension.
MndWrp 101 Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Thanks.. i hadn't realised that the content of the file was the same.
ginjaninja 605 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 FWIW if you havent made a manual changes/matches like me... I just configured emby meta services to use the new default method, and deleted all the old files and let emby recreate...
MndWrp 101 Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 I probably manually edited 90% of the xml files yes... so i guess ill let it be as it is. Thanks though !
ginjaninja 605 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 no need to give up...backup your hard work..eg robocopy /mir only including metdata files goto metadata config and tick both savers...rescan your library...once confident the new format has been written with your hardwork in tact...change the reader under metadata services to the new format and delete the old format.. 1
